Community Outreach

The Metropolitan Winds is proud to share the experience of performing in the world-class setting of the Morton H Meyerson Symphony Center with fellow Metroplex musicians.

Before many concerts at the Meyerson, audiences are entertained with the sounds of other quality ensembles invited to perform in the lobby of the Symphony Center. Performances have been given by Community Bands, Local Groups, and talented High School Music Groups, with the opportunity for them to stay and listen to the Winds, all without cost to the invited group.

In addition to free performances about town during the holidays or at film premieres, The Metropolitan Winds has given numerous Community Outreach concerts since its inception. Music Matters Concerts are free concerts performed in a local school auditorium setting, featuring a wide variety of soloists, original arrangements, film scores and quality original band literature. To better serve the growing diversity of our audiences, a Spanish translation of the program is provided for the enjoyment and understanding of our growing fan base.
